Starting 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 1𝐬𝐭, 2025, the Clean Fuel Production Credit (CFPC) — also known as the 45Z tax credit — will be in effect.

This new incentive offers ethanol producers significant tax deductions: 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 $1 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧 for nonaviation fuels, for reducing their CI score.

This presents a substantial opportunity to enhance sustainability and lower production costs.

While much of your CI score is influenced by the sustainability of the corn used, there are still considerable opportunities to reduce emissions directly at your production plant.

Continuum Ag’s CEO, Mitchell Hora, highlights the potential savings [1]:

“𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐈 𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 50, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧.”

Considering the ethanol yield per bushel of corn, this translates to about $0.054 𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥 for each CI point reduced.

At Kinergetics, we’re leading the way with our patent-pending waste heat-integrated recompression (WHIR) system.

This innovative technology has the potential to significantly lower your CI score by reducing natural gas usage significantly.
