Kinergetics prides itself on “out of the box” thinking to find new and innovative ways to heat recovery

Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

We have provided feasibility analysis and design for combined heat and power (CHP) and on-site power generation for over 15 years, and are now providing complete CHP evaluation, design and installation.

Our expertise with numerous complex industrial process operations provides unique perspective with respect to integrating CHP into an existing facility; effective Integration is critical for trouble free and economically viable CHP operation.

For first cost and maintenance cost control, Kinergetics modifies certain existing “prime power” generators so that they are suitable for CHP applications. Power generation efficiency is generally between 30 and 35 percent with overall efficiency greater than 90 percent, pending circumstances. Overall efficiency is impacted by the level of heat recovery and integration.

Waste Heat to Power Systems

Capacities ranging in size from 100 HP to 2 MW provided a suitable heat source is available.  Equipment built to specification for greatest efficiency.

Water Recovery and Waste Water Reduction

Wastewater minimization and water recovery to control related cost.  Waste heat is used to minimize system operating cost when appropriate.

Waste Heat Recovery

Heat transfer solutions for low (<100°F) and high (>300°F) temperature fouling prone exhaust, process liquids and vapors.

Low Temperature Scrubber Exhaust Heat Recovery - Case Study

Back in 2011, Kinergetics was called to a large Wisconsin anodizer, where around 55,000 SCFM of high humidity, warm air was being exhausted, leading to a high winter gas heating bill for the plant.

After a thorough evaluation and consideration of standard approaches to meet plant objectives, Kinergetics developed a passive (no chillers or heat pumps) low temperature heat recovery system.

This system used the cool Wisconsin winter conditions to dehumidify the exhaust while simultaneously recovering heat to preheat incoming building air.

Implementing this system lead to a near balanced building pressure and a 30% drop in natural gas use after the first month of operation.

This project also was awarded the “2012 Enviornmental Innovation Award” From Wisconsin manfacturers and Commerce.
