Process Cooling System Optimaztion

Process cooling can account for a significant portion of an industrial plant’s utility costs, however an accurately measured efficiency metric is rarely available. As a result, projects to improve system efficiency can lack sufficient justification. Furthermore, projects to address specific process cooling demands are frequently overlooked due to their complexity.

Kinergetics takes a systems based approach to identify energy cost avoidance opportunities on Freon and ammonia based chillers and their related heat exchangers and cooling towers. Systems evaluated range from about 150 to 60,000 tons. Sub-metering is often used to identify baseline efficiencies, system loads, and the impacts of operating characteristics.

Kinergetics work includes optimized chiller and cooling tower control, as well as a proprietary control strategy for fermenter circulation/cooling pumps in dry grind ethanol.
